Osage Language Mobile Apps
The Osage Nation Language Department currently offers three exciting mobile applications for you to use in your language-learning endeavors: Osage Books, Wahzhazhe, and Sonny Goes to School. All of the apps are available on Google and Apple app stores. Detailed installation instructions can be found below.
OSAGE BOOKS
The Osage Books app is a location for published works of the Osage Nation Language Department. The app can be downloaded by searching âGoogle Booksâ in the Apple App Store. It will be available in the Google Play Store soon.
The app aims to protect further and promote the language, culture, and traditional ways of the Osage people utilizing technology, which increases our constituents' educational outreach and distance learning opportunities.
COYOTE AND THE BEAR
The Osage Book App features the initial story, âCoyote and the Bear," a childrenâs storybook that is written in Osage orthography with English translation availability. The traditional Wahzhazhe story has been circulated for generations and retold by Master Language teacher Dr. Herman âMogriâ Lookout. Osage artist Joe Don Brave created beautiful and playful illustrations.

WAHZHAZHE
Wahzhazhe is a language-learning app designed for all ages. It features more than 500 phrases and words, has games and quizzes available, and has a searchable database.

SONNY GOES TO SCHOOL
Sonny Goes to School is a fun, easy-to-use app, where you spend the day with Sonny and his family in their Osage-language-only world. You'll hear the language spoken in an Osage home, school, playground, dinner, and much more. Little Sonny even dreams in Osage.
