Osage Nation Reservation

Welcome to the Osage Nation Reservation!

We wholeheartedly welcome all visitors to the Osage Nation Reservation and are eager to share our rich culture and heritage with you. However, we kindly ask that you approach your visit with the utmost respect for our people, our sacred spaces, and cultural sites, as they hold profound significance within our community.

First and foremost, we request that you refrain from entering or even approaching our sacred burial grounds and cemeteries. These hallowed places are of great spiritual importance to us and should be treated with reverence. Photography and recording of any kind within these areas are strictly prohibited, and we kindly ask that you do not disturb any offerings or items left behind at these sites. We also ask that you do not leave any offerings at the final resting places of our ancestors.

Our tribal schools and early learning centers play a vital role in preserving our cultural heritage. To respect the privacy and learning environments of our students and staff, please avoid entering these facilities unless you have obtained prior authorization or are participating in an organized educational program.

Likewise, our dance grounds and ceremonial spaces are central to our community, where we come together to celebrate our traditions. These areas are often reserved for specific events, so please do not enter them without a formal invitation. If you happen upon a ceremony in progress, we ask that you remain quiet and observe from a respectful distance without interrupting. Photography and recording of any kind within these areas are strictly prohibited. Respect the privacy of individuals you encounter during your visit.

Should you have any questions or a desire to learn more about our culture and traditions, we encourage you to seek guidance from staff at the Osage Nation Visitors Center or other designated cultural sites that are open to the public. They are eager to share their knowledge and help you navigate your visit in a respectful manner.

In keeping with our commitment to preserving the natural beauty of our surroundings, please dispose of trash and litter responsibly. Our natural environment is deeply intertwined with our culture, and we strive to maintain its cleanliness and beauty.

Lastly, we ask that you comply with any additional guidelines or rules provided by tribal authorities or local authorities, particularly in matters of access to specific areas.

By adhering to these guidelines, you will contribute to a positive and respectful experience during your visit to the Osage Nation Reservation. We sincerely appreciate your willingness to learn about our culture and heritage and hope that your visit is both educational and meaningful.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
