Osage Ballet - Then & Now

Students learn basic ballet terms and read summary biographies trace prominent careers of Maria & Marjorie Tallchief, prima ballerinas of Osage descent; and their many honors including being two of five famed “Oklahoma Indian Ballerinas.”

Students read and respond to questions on who, what, why, where and how of the Osage Ballet production and music, making connection to the Tallchief sisters. They respond to video clips of the ballet and music, and the read “The Story” - a summary of Osage History and the ballet itself, and summarize two scenes they find most interesting.
